Localization
The AccessVia Publishing Platform is designed to be translated into any language for any region in the world and is capable of displaying any language character set, publishing signs that display multiple languages, and handling display of the world’s currencies. We offer consulting services and tools for localizing our software and your item databases into a particular language for use in a region or country.
Languages Included
All of our software products ship with English US language strings and most of our products also ship with a base translation for Spanish. We have language glossaries available in many languages that can be used as a starting point for your translations. Retailers can choose to take on the bulk of the translation tasks on their own or work with a translation services organization.
Licensing and Costs
Use of the application with multiple languages or with multi-byte character encoding may have licensing implications and often requires an additional Maintenance & Support fee. Contact our AccessVia Sales and Support team for details.
Localization Services
AccessVia provides support for the translation process and delivers your custom software fully translated in your chosen languages.
For customers using Web dSignShop, also licensing the PPM Enterprise Edition allows you to manage and update translation strings that are used in the Web dSignShop user interface.
Compiled applications such as AccessVia Designer or the Print Control require our assistance. There are two ways to handle translation projects for complied applications:
- Using AccessVia Tools and Processes
Using our localization process along with the Alchemy CATALYST localization software tool, we deliver a set of resource files and documents that are prepared for translation. When the translations are complete, our team will incorporate the modified language resource files into our software for you. - Using Your Tools and Processes
If you choose not to use our process and tool set, we can deliver the language resources in a variety of formats for use with translation tools or methods of translations of your choice. When you have returned the translated files and documents, we will package those files with our software for you.
There may be consulting service fees and ongoing support costs related to translating AccessVia software.
Language Glossaries
Language glossaries can greatly jump-start the translation process. AccessVia has assembled a variety of language glossaries that include terms that are unique to the world of retail product promotion and AccessVia software. These can be used by a translator and in many cases can provide 70 to 80 percent of a project’s translation strings.
Currently available glossaries:
- Spanish for Spain
- Spanish for Mexico
- French for Canada
- Italian for Italy
- Japanese for Japan
